Town Celebrations Committee
May 26, 2011

Members present
Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Linda Dixon, Jo-Anne Granger, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller,
Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski and Bob Tracey

Business
Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.
The April 28, 2011 minutes were accepted with several changes.
Suzie will schedule two work sessions in June to address issues that need attention. At
the moment, several major topics of discussion will be banner bearers, essay contest
and online submission of forms.
Memorial Day, May 30, 2011
Committee members should plan to meet as usual (8:15 am) at the white house.
Suzie recapped the morning’s schedule.
The prediction is for warm weather -- water will be available.
Bill Mix will read General Logan’s Order of the Day.
The portable sound system is available for use at the Munroe cemetery gazebo and
ceremony at the green.
Mike DaRu of the Lt. Col. John W. Hudson Club of Lexington, MA will read the
Gettysburg Address at the gazebo; Sam Doran, same organization, will make comments.
Fr. Colletti is guest clergy.
State Senator Ken Donnelly is invited to give a brief presentation and say a few words
about the Lexington VA Hospital volunteers.
Jeremy Brick is the morning’s vocalist.
We have not heard from either of the scout groups.

Chief marshal suggestions are needed.
The committee discussed and decided to again sponsor the essay contest. It was
