Dot informed us that this year is the 100 anniversary of the Post Cane. It is the 22
year of the Minuteman Cane. The Lexington Historical Society has the original Post
Cane and it was thought that we should display it this year at the Depot during the
reception.
Last year a new tradition was started. A joint reception was held for the recipients of the
and
White Tricorn Hat the Minuteman Cane. This year the reception will include the
recipient(s) of the Youth Award. All three awards are given out at the morning ceremony
on the Green on Patriot’s Day which is Monday, April 20 this year. The reception for all
three will be at the Depot on Sunday, April 26 at 2 PM. The Lions Club and the FCOA
will co-sponsor the event.
Since Lillian McArthur has resigned, a replacement is needed. Chris Venier and Leo
McSweeney will be considered. Also, Rabbi Lerner, the co-chair of the Interfaith
Council, may be asked to recommend someone from the council who might be interested
in serving. This will be discussed at our next meeting.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, April 7 at 11 AM in Room 111
.
Respectfully Submitted by Beverly Kelley, Secretary
