Donna Hooper met with Town Manager Carl Valente to discuss opportunities for
developing Lexington 300th Web Site Mr Valente Indicated support for requesting
supplemental appropriation for FY2011 funding for web site
Mr Harry Forsdick, web site consultant and designer for the current web site of the
Lexington Historical Society attended to learn of interests of the Lexington 300th , his
Interest In helping with our web site, and plans for submitting a proposal to the
committee
Denise Dube has looked Into options for presence with Facebook and Twitter
Members present discussed Interest In having the web site Include such things as
• Timeline
• Photos
• Calendar
• Videos, music, and other Interactive options
• Historical features
• Community contributions to the time capsule, virtual time capsule
Possible web site categories—learn, visit,loin, experience, what Ise
Harry Forsdick suggested members visit the web sit of the Lexington Historical Society—
www lexinOonhistory or for comparison.
Blog—possible means by communicating `where are we' snippets
What Is editorial responsibility re what we post from the public
Email lists are deemed a thing of the past —today's users subscribe to a blog.
Harry Forsdick suggested the town also acquire www lexington300 com and

UPDATES FROM WORKING GROUPS
• Logo—
• Selected entry is that by LHS student Samuel Curley, 16 Meriam St [$100
award]
• Discussion on presentation of award, unveiling of logo—possibly at Town
Meeting, Cary Library, Selectmen's Meeting
• Need for copyright release for logo
• Need to send thank you notes to unsuccessful submittals
• Pins—Jessie Steigerwald outlined costs and types, opportunities for
charges/donations
Minutes of meetings for 2009, 2010, and through January 6, 2011 were adopted as
follows 2009 — September 17, October 2, 7, 2010—April 23, May 17, June 24, July 26,
August 23, September 21, October 12, and November 23, 2011 —January 6 Minutes for
January 26, February 16 and March 3 to be voted at future date
FEEDBACK FROM MARCH 3' COMMUNITY MEETING—
Members generally thought the meeting was very successful, with good ideas and interest
expressed from those attending.
Concern with date identified for possible `Incorporation Weekend' celebration— as
March 31, 2013 is Easter weekend. Ideas for a possible replacement date were discussed
—likely March 16/17, 2013 Impact on falling on St. Patrick's Day weekend were viewed
as positive to any possible celebration.
Other ideas
• Historic Fashion Show—March 2012 (Tanya Morrisett/Jessie Steigerwald)
Possible 300 years of Lexington fashion, costumes 1713----, involving
Lexington Community Education with sewing classes
• Patriot's Day— 300th Float —Inviting other Lexington's (Eric Carlson) —
importance of booking/reserving hotel rooms (Aloft9), letters located in the
Worthen Collection at Cary Library from the 1963 invitations
• Sue Rockwell explained Doris Pullen's daughter Jodi is interested in including
Lexington High School class reunions as part of the celebration [member of
LHS class of 1963 — 50th anmversary9]
• Sue Rockwell explained Ben Soule continues to be excited with working on 'They
Nobly Dared' -
