Board of Registrar Meeting of
May 6, 2003 – 3:30 p.m.
Minutes
Chairman Mary Abegg called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.
Present: Mary Abegg, Chairman; Luanna Devenis, Ann Miller; Donna Hooper, Clerk
Welcome
– Registrar Ann Miller was welcomed to the Board by members Mary Abegg,
Luanna Devenis, and Donna Hooper. A brief discussion ensued on the role of the Registrars
and opportunities for service during the upcoming year.
Census Recap and Annual List of Residents
– Donna provided status update on completion
of 2003 Annual Town Census, upcoming voter “inactivation” and final product of Annual
List of Residents.

Registration deadline for upcoming proposition 2 ½ override vote / June 2

Special Election was discussed. Ann will help staff the 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
session in the Town Clerk’s Office. Mary and Luanna will be out of town.
Donna updated the Board on opportunities for a voter registration session at the
o
Lexington High School during senior week. The opportunity was well received.
Mary will spearhead efforts.
Discussion on Assistant Registrars ensued; with current Asst. Registrar Margaret
o
Bradley now retired there is a need for new Asst. Registrar at LHS. Mary will
pursue with LHS history teacher George McCormack. Need for annual re-
appointment of Assistant Registrars was discussed and planned for next meeting.
Donna will be in contact with Mary DeSimone at Minuteman Regional Voc. High
School.

Election Officer Appointments & Annual Meeting
– Registrars tentatively set June 19 as
date for annual meeting at which the recommendation to Board of Selectmen for annual
appointment of Election Officers will be voted.
Meeting adjourned approximately 4:45 p.m.
