Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm.
March 17, 2011 minutes were accepted with two changes.
Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 18, 2011
Updates
Bob Tracey
Waltham American Legion has not yet responded.
Middlesex County Sheriff’s office is still undecided about participating.
Dave Taylor
Information has been posted on various websites, distributed all around town
(including three area hotels, Hanscom AFB) and sent to several news channels.
Linda Dixon

The 182 Medical Company of Concord, MA honor guard will replace the 181
Engineer Company National Guard unit in the afternoon parade. Linda is
awaiting their application for official approval.
Mary Gillespie
There are no banner bearer responses yet. Mary will go to the schools next week
to see if there have been any sign ups.
Banner bearer participation letters will be available at Michelson’s Shoes.
Brookline Bank will send volunteers to help at the parade.
Mary will talk with the track coach at LHS regarding recruitment of student
volunteers for community service hours.
Bill Mix
Formation of the Spirit of ’76 is still in progress.
Dick Crogan
There has been no response to the appeal for LHS student volunteers.
Paul Jenkins
The John Penney Band ride is taken care of. A motion was made and approved to
accept the band’s participation at the rate they asked for.
A motion was made and approved to accept Robert Barber’s New Hampshire
Military Vehicles (about a dozen) for participation in the parade at a cost of $100
more than last year.
A motion was made and approved to accept John Jay’s, Massachusetts Military
Museum, two tanks and armored scout car for participation in the parade at the
same cost as last year.
Julie Miller
Lexington Christian Academy is trying to gather a group for participation in the
afternoon parade.
Miscellaneous
Banknorth will not be participating in the afternoon parade.
Suzie reported that the Town Celebrations Committee’s Patriots’ Day budget is
depleted at this time.
We have a few new parade sponsors.
A motion was made and approved to accept the nomination of Coach William
Tighe as honorary chief marshal.
A motion was made and approved to accept the following applications for
participation in the afternoon parade:
Minuteman Cane with car
Lions Club with lion and car for the recipient
Community Farm Coalition
Minuteman National Park with colonial drummer
Mahoney’s with float
Youville Place bus with residents
Dance Inn for the same cost as last year
The committee arranged the parade participation lineup.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 pm.
