Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2009
Present: Gerald McLeod, Joseph O'Leary, Hank Manz, Bob Kent, Linda Vine, Fuang-
Ying Huang, Albert Zabin, Emily Lavine, and Deborah Jackson
Guests: Connie Rawson, Kathy Quinlan
Meeting at RmI l l — Town Hall was called to order at 8:OOAM
The committee decided on frameworks for the program:
1. Panel Discussion: possible invite keynote speakers;
*Senator John Kerry — Bob to approach Representative Jay Kaufman
*Historian Doris Goodwin — Invite from BOS
*Historian Henry Lois Gates Jr.?
2. Lexington Read: at the library to start in late spring, 2010.
3. Oral history recordings: Deb and Melissa will work with LHS students and
the local participants.
Police report:
1. On August 15 there was an assault and battery case involving young adults
investigation underway, no determination if meets the criteria for a hate crime. Update
will be provided at the October meeting.
2. A woman files a complaint with MCAD about a Lexington police.
The next committee meeting is scheduled on Friday, October 16th, 2009 at 8:00 AM.
Location is to be determined.
