Chair called the meeting to order and introduced Craig Hall, Director of Community
Education. Mr. Hall was invited to provide his input as to how the LHRC could enhance
the educational programs planned for the fall. He offered his assistance to market the
programs and gave us the deadline for his fall catalogue production 8/5. He suggested a
defined focus possibly offering the Lexington Green Program first in October or November
and the Civil Rights in January.
It was suggested that both films be shown (Unfinished Symphony and Struggle for the
Green) but that we edit to keep the program with -in a two hour timeframe. Craig offered
to help with this process.
The LHRC agreed to this scheduling of events with the first program on Sunday,
November 21 at Cary Hall. Al Zabin will work with Mr. Hall to draft a paragraph for the
Community Education Catalogue.
The group also would like to invite Elise Lemire as a local scholar to participate. Al Zabin
will invite her to the 11/21 event.
Bob Kent will continue to work on Senator Kerry's participation, but given his schedule we
might not know until much closer to November 21.
Melissa Buttaro will work with the HS to promote the program along with Mr. Hall. Both
had some specific suggestions for outreaching to the HS students.
No reports from the Police or Human Services Departments.
School Department announced that the Gay Men's Concert would be presenting in
