Meeting Minutes
December 3, 2010
Present: Albert Zabin, Bob Kent, Melissa Buttaro, Jessie Steigerwald, Fuang -Ping
Huang, Detective McLean, Puran Dang
Meeting was called to order at 8:05 am.
Minutes were approved as mailed
The "Peace, Protest, and Patriotism " program went well on Nov. 21. Some members
felt the attendance may have been better if the event was held in October.
The committee decided not to participate in MLK events and to put a program for late
October, 2011. Possible topic includes Lexington Civil Right Committee.
Al will send the final draft Anti - Muslim bigotry statement to the board of selectman for
approval. Jessie suggested and volunteered to draft a separate letter to the Minuteman to
promote HRC and diversity as well as address racial issues in Lexington.
HRC currently has a link on Lexington's town website with contact information. It was
suggested to post announcement and current events on HRC's webpage and to have
general contact info for residents to leave anonymousness tips. HRC can also utilize the
site to survey residents' concerns
Next meeting is scheduled on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in Room 207.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 am.
