Lexington Board of Health Meeting, December 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Wendy Heiger-Bernays called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The Board reviewed the minutes of November 17, 2010. Perlmutter motioned to accept
the minutes with corrections. Flynn seconded. All approved.
Community Health Updates/Reports – The Board reviewed the Community Health
Report prepared by David Neylon, R.N., and all follow-ups had been done in a timely
manner.
Environmental Health Report – The Board reviewed the Environmental Health Report
prepared by Kathy Fox.
State Sanitary Code Case Review – The Board reviewed the State Sanitary Code Case
Review.
95 Grove Street - Cody advised the Board of a housing inspection conducted at 95 Grove
St. The resident agreed to allow help with cleaning and removing the clutter in her home.
32 Fairbanks Avenue – Cody advised the Board of Mr. Reutter’s recent passing and it
appears his wife is not living at this location.
5203 Lexington Ridge Drive – Cody updated the Board concerning the violations at 5203
Lexington Ridge Drive. Avalon wanted to put the tenant in a hotel room while they
corrected the violations but the tenant wanted to wait until after the holidays. Cody did
remind Avalon of the chronic dampness in the unit which needs to be corrected.
26 Volunteer Way – Cody advised the Board, that a smoke stack for a wood stove at 26
Volunteer Way is level with the patio and living room of the neighbors located behind
this address who made the complaint. Cody visited this property on two different
occasions and there was no activity.
Permit for Five Miniature Goats at 8 Goodwin Road – Heiger-Bernays requested that
Stephanie Doucette, Animal Control Officer, to inspect this property.
Caulk Testing Project - Update – Cody informed the Board that Patrick Goddard,
Director of Facilities, will be attending the February 10, 2011 Board of Health meeting to
report on the status of the Operations and Maintenance plans for all municipal buildings,
especially school buildings, common best practices (to monitor and improve indoor air
quality) and specific information on the maintenance of ventilation system for each
Lexington Public School building.
Emergency Preparedness Update – Cody advised the Board of additional funding from
MAPC to be spent on or before August 1, 2011. Cody will be working on a plan to spend
these funds.
Perlmutter motioned to adjourn. Flynn seconded. All approved.
