HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-01-21-HPB-min Lexington Housing Partnership Meeting Minutes for January 21, 2010 Attendees: Bob Bicknell, Carol Marine, Wendy Manz, Florence Baturin, Julie Duncan, Mary Haskell, Arthur Katz, Chris Kluchman, Ken Kreutziger, Betsey Weiss. Bob Bicknell chaired the meeting and took the minutes. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm. The minutes of the Oct and Nov 2009 meetings were approved as published. Bob informed the meeting that a nominating committee has been established. Florence Baturin is chair and Mary Haskell and possibly Winifred McGowan will assist. 1 . The Partnership voted to approve membership in the 4 town consortium being formed, agreed to the MOU which is being coordinated with the Board of Selectmen and approved Bob Bicknell and Ken Kreutziger as the first two board members to represent Lexington on the board of the new organization. Members were encouraged to attend the Feb 1 Selectmen’s meeting when the MOU will be presented for their approval. 2.Sub-Committee Reports Report from Lexington Housing Foundation – Florence. Lexington will receive $5,000 from Cambridge Savings from their campaign. Hancock Church gave $1,000 in late 2009. Busa Farm Status - The Town is negotiating for an adjacent parcel called the Goldinger Land. When the parcel is acquired, the CPC and Town Meeting will be asked to fund the acquisition. When the action is completed, a committee will be formed by the Selectmen to determine use. Jefferson Union Development – No new news. Mary Haskell will try and determine the status of the affordable unit. Lexington Place: Julie will contact the realtor in charge to determine the status of lottery winners in terms of their gaining financing, etc. 40B Repeal – Mary Haskell reported that an article on next November’s ballot will attempt to repeal 40B. Efforts are being marshaled to prevent the repeal. Countryside Manor Project: A PSDUP is on file and accessible thru the town web site. A hearing is scheduled for Feb 3. A discussion followed and the Partnership chair was asked to comment at the hearing to the Planning Board in favor of the project as it provides a much needed source of smaller and affordable housing units and to encourage an increase in the number of affordable units if at all possible. Lexington Housing Partnership Vine St. Parcel Status: Bob explained the actions underway for the Vine St. parcel. The assessment of the existing historic farm house should be complete in about 2 weeks. Then the Planning Department will determine the plan to coordinate development work on the site. An early meeting with neighbors will be set to provide them an opportunity to provide their input. The work by Sasaki Associates will be used to support this effort. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30pm. Next Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2010 in room 207 in the Town Hall from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
