HomeMy WebLinkAboutTourism Advisory Committee Charge TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE Members: Seven(7)to twelve (12) Appointed by: Board of Selectmen Term Length: An expected interim report to the Board of Selectmen no later than March 30, 2000 and termination of responsibilities after acceptance of final report. Description: The Tourism Advisory Committee is charged with identifying action options that the Town could implement, recommend the creation of or changes to by-laws or regulations or propose appropriations so as to increase and manage tourism and to better support the interests of tourism within the Town of Lexington. In addition, it is expected that the committee shall make a recommendation with regard to tour buses as soon as possible. Criteria for Membership: The Tourism Advisory Committee will have a member of the Board of Selectmen as its chair and its membership should include all or some of the following: a member of the Planning Board, a member of the Office of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Center Committee; a member of the Historical Society, a representative from the National Park Service; a citizen who has real estate interests within Lexington Center, retailers, a representative from the Museum of Our National Heritage and a citizen within a local historic district (not necessarily from the Center). Staff: Will be provided by the Economic Development Office. Adopted by the Board of Selectmen on 10/18/99.
