NOISE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
1 December 2009 Meeting
A duly posted meeting of the Noise Advisory Committee (NAC), held in the Legion
Room, Cary Hall, was called to order at 7:30 PM by Chairman Tony Galaitsis with
members Jeanne Krieger, Martha Wood, Steve Kropper, Bob Earsy, Jack Maloney
present. Myla Kabat-Zinn was absent.
Photo for Town Report
The NAC posed for a photo for the Town Annual Report. Chairman Galaitsis
volunteered to generate a draft report for the Annual Report.
Approval of the 8/4/09 Minutes
Minor edits were proposed and adopted. Jack Maloney moved for approval of the
minutes as amended. Approval of the revised minutes was adopted unanimously.
2010 NAC Meetings Schedule
The NAC set up a baseline schedule for 2010 with meetings at 7:30 pm on the Second
Tuesday of each month, namely:
January 12 July 13
February 9 August 10
March 9 September 14
April 13 October 12
May 11 November 9
June 8 December 14
Noise from the Shire Site
The question of noise emanating from existing operations at the Shire site was raised. A
suggestion was made that the Town Building Commissioner brief the NAC on the up-to-
date noise results and planned testing at the site. It was noted that the NAC’s role is to
advise the Board of Selectmen (BOS) upon their request to review specific noise-related
matters. In that respect, the NAC offers its assistance to the BOS or to the Building
Commissioner for review of any noise-related information about the Lexington
Technology Park.
Discussion of noise regulations and test data from the site ensued.
Following a motion and a unanimous vote to adjourn, the meeting ended at 8:15 pm.
