Town Celebrations Committee
February 3, 2010

Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Sondra Lucente, Jerry Michelson, Henry Murphy, Charlie Price,

Business
Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.
Minutes of the January 27, 2010 and February 3, 2010 meetings were distributed.
Without a quorum, the minutes could not be approved and will, therefore, be held for
reading and approval on February 24, 2010.
Patriots’ Day 2010
Floats

Parade participation deadline is March 1. The Youth Commission’s application
was the first to arrive.
A guest at the floats meeting held on January 27, 2010 asked about liability.
Suzie will look into the matter.
Available trucks – (1) Paul Jenkins’ contact, Doug Orr, will lend a truck for the
day, (2) Matt Foti can provide a 40-ft step deck truck and (3) Jerry Michelson’s
contact has a truck for use as well.
Publicity – Paul Waxman of LexIsMore will send its e-mail within the next week
and will include float information.
Fitzgerald Award
Bill Mix will follow up with Billie Fitzgerald and share his conversation with her at our
next meeting.
Marching unit applications
The Greater Boston Firefighters Pipes & Drums application arrived, and they are
requesting a $1,200 fee. We will decide to either accept or deny at a later time.
Dance Inn’s application was received. Suzie will have Sondra ask if the group will
once again head up the parade.
Spirit of 76
Bill Mix will locate a participant.
Invited guests
Suzie read the list and asked if there are others to be included.
Sponsors
Paul gave Suzie a list of existing banners (sponsors), which he will update.
DAR plaque
The plaque has been found and will be rededicated around noon on Patriots’ Day.
Our February 10, 2010 meeting was cancelled.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm.
