Board of Health: Burt Perlmutter, Chair; Wendy Heiger-Bernays; Sharon MacKenzie
Health Department: Derek Fullerton
The meeting began at 7:05 PM. There was no public participation.
Perlmutter asked the Board to review the minutes of the October 14, 2004. MacKenzie motioned to accept the minutes. Heiger-Bernays seconded. All approved.
Fullerton updated the Board concerning the Public Health Nurse position. He stated the position closed on November 12 and that there are 5 candidates to be interviewed.
Perlmutter distributed to the Board a copy of the Nest’s ENCYLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN LAW definition of public and private nuisance.
Fullerton advised the Board of a hazardous condition of gas odor inside 329 Massachusetts Avenue on November 15, 2004. The Lexington Fire Department responded and indicated an incident
report that noted odor traced to basement storage room. Appeared odor traveling into building by following waste pipe into storage room. Building was ventilated by opening doors and
windows. Odor also noted in catch basins on Fottler Avenue. DEP notified. LSP to submit a copy of there findings.
Fullerton informed the Board of a recent early morning noise complaint from the resident across from 240 Bedford St. David Eagle reprimanded the employee and apologized for disturbing
the resident.
Fullerton updated the Board of the flu clinic held on November 9, 2004. Because 90 doses were left over from the clinic and the State is giving us 140 doses and Lahey is offering 250
doses for the community, the Board expressed their desire for another clinic. Fullerton will schedule.
MacKenzie asked to be on the Selectmen’s Meeting Agenda to approve the new health permit fees.
Heiger-Bernays motioned to adjourn the meeting. MacKenzie seconded. All approved.
The meeting ended at 8:10 p.m.
