Minutes for Meeting June 8, 2009

Present: Barbara Ciampa, Co-Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes; Zoe Perry Wood, Co- Chair; Janet
Post, Secretary; Jackie Hawkinson; Jonathan Cue; Mary Trometer,Treasurer
Absent: Victoria Campos, Bill Janowitz;; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; Jan Goplerud;
Call to Order
Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:10PM
Secretary's Report
The minutes for the May ‘09 meeting were accepted.
Treasurer's Report
The treasurer’s report was accepted. There is a balance of $9,799.52
New Business
?Christian Harold gave us an update on the Lexington Open Studios weekend. It was a
successful event and he said that he would send an official report to us soon. There is
discussion about an exhibit in the future of all 116 artists who participated that would
serve as sort of a preview for the event.
?Barbara and Zoe awarded the Dimmock Award recently to Sam Goody.
?Barbara and Victoria handed out pamphlets at the recent Discovery Day where
they had a good day at the non-prophet tent.

?Also briefly discussed was Janet’s report on when each member of LCA term is
up.
?Town Hall art: Barbara will give George a call.
?Lex Media opportunity would like to film some of our grant recipients to include a
snippet of their projects in a short film.
?Our council’s overview and guidelines are now posted on the MCC website.

Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM. The next meeting will be August 24, 2009 at
7:00 PM in Cary memorial Library in the Learning Center.
