Minutes for Meeting August 24, 2009
Cary Memorial Library
Present: Barbara Ciampa, Co-Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes; Janet Post, Secretary; Jackie
Hawkinson; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; George Burnell
Absent: Victoria Campos, Bill Janowitz; Jan Goplerud; Jonathan Cue; Mary Trometer,Treasurer;
Zoe Perry Wood, Co- Chair;
Call to Order
Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:10PM. We didn’t have a quorum so the
topics discussed are listed below.
Secretary's Report
The minutes for the June ‘09 meeting were accepted.
Treasurer's Report
Mary reported prior to tonight’s meeting that she made five reimbursements for grants during
the summer. The treasure’s report is forthcoming.
Topics discussed tonight:
??We are still waiting to hear from MCC about how much money we will be
receiving after the MCC budget cutbacsk.
??MCC has requested that Laurie Dell’Olio, who is an accountant with town hall,
come to our September meeting to discuss the new financial reporting
procedures. We discussed that if Mary is not going to carry on as treasurer that
we need to have someone to replace her before we have Laurie visit.
??We are going to delay sending out notifications to the schools about applying for
grants this year until we know how much we are receiving from MCC.
??A sub-committee will be appointed in September to review incoming grant
applications.
??We are pleased that both Jan and Jackie will be renewing their memberships on
our council in September. We have yet to hear from Bill if he will be doing the
same.
??George Burnell stopped by to have a thorough discussion about the town hall
art. We have tabled the further discussion.
??Merrill Meadows, who is on the Munroe Center board, visited to discuss a joint
fund raising effort.
??The library donor wall is almost ready to go up. They are still working on the
lighting details etc. It is a floral glass with all the donor’s names printed on it.
??LexMedia suggested we plan a TV program focusing on grant recipients in an
interviewing format.
??Janet will do some research on other councils to see what they are doing for
fund raising.
Business for Next Meeting
??Visioning for our council and the Lexington arts community as a whole.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM. Zoe Perry-Wood will chair our next meeting will be
September 14, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Cary memorial Library in the Learning Center.
