PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
MEETING OF MARCH 30, 2005
A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in Room G-1, Town Office Building, was called
to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Harden with members Manz, Galaitsis, Canale and planning staff
McCall-Taylor and Tap present.
******************** ARTICLES FOR 2005 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING *******************
Report to Town Meeting under Article 2; The Board discussed the draft of the report that Mr. Harden
would make to Town Meeting under Article 2. Mr. Harden said he would speak about Hanscom, the
Center, and inclusionary zoning and would add a paragraph on a mitigation policy. Ms. Manz suggested
that he expand the paragraph on Hanscom. Mr. Canale said that there is a reference in the bylaws to an
inclusionary housing policy and wondered what happened to the one the Board has. Mr. Harden said that
it is not that the Board did not have a policy but that they would explore having an inclusionary
requirement within the bylaw.
Article 9, Rezone Waltham Street Property: Ms. Manz rehearsed her presentation for the Planning Board
on Article 9, Rezone Map 5, Lot 111A, Waltham Street, noting that it reflects changes that Board
members suggested at a previous meeting.
Article 7, Adoption of the Community Preservation Act: Mr. Canale rehearsed his presentation on Article
7, Adoption of Community Preservation Act. He said that thrust of his statement would be that the
townspeople ought to have the opportunity to vote on community preservation act.
Article 8, Establishment of Community Preservation Committee: The Board supported this article and
will work collaboratively with other groups to establish a committee if the community preservation act
passes.
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.
Wendy Manz, Clerk
