MEETING MINUTES
May 26, 2020
Call to Order: A public meeting of the Turning Mill Neighborhood Conservation District
Commission was held virtually via Zoom meeting. The meeting convened at 7:30 PM.
TMNCD Commission Members in Attendance:
Diane Pursley, Renata Cathou, Richard Canale, Eric Peterson, Marilyn Fenollosa(alternate)
Absent: Jim Dowling
Public in Attendance: Tina McBride

Continued public hearing on the proposed garage addition at 5 Dewey Road
APPLICANT (S) PRESENT:
Rob DiPierro, DiPierro & Brown Construction (representing the property owners)
ABUTTER(S) PRESENT:

SUMMARY: The applicant sketched the garage to be moved to the right of the property with the
garage door facing the street and the driveway leading directly into the garage. Mr. DiPierro
expressed concern that the garage cannot be moved too far to the right because of the ledge.
TMNCD COMMENTS: All Commission members agreed the proposed placement of the
garage worked well and were supportive of the proposal.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None
RECOMMENDATION/NEXT STEPS: Mr. DiPierro will now work with the surveyor to
update the survey and update the plans. He will contact the Chair to schedule one final meeting.
The deliverables for the meeting will include:
• Combined elevations of the house and garage with new plan
• Landscape plan in the area of the new garage to promote the wooded aesthetic of the
neighborhood.
MOTION:
Moved by Ms. Cathou to approve preliminary draft plan subject to the receipt of the final
drawings and specs including the elevations and landscape plan. Seconded by Mr. Peterson.
VOTE:
5-0 in favor of the motion: Ms. Pursley, Ms. Cathou, Mr. Canale, Mr. Peterson. Ms. Fenollosa

Motion to approve the minutes dated 4/2/2020 made by Mr. Canale. Seconded by Mr. Peterson.

Neighborhood updates: Ms. Pursley reported that she had been contacted by the realtor for 67
Turning Mill with a question about NCD guidelines and rules. She responded with links to the
NCD documents that would be helpful to prospective buyers. Ms. Pursley said that the neighbor
representatives should get together to further discuss the "Friends of TM Neighborhood" idea to
keep new owners informed about NCD guidelines. She will reach out to further discuss.
