Virtual Meeting
Members Present

Members Not Present

Business:
• June convened the meeting at 7:06 pm and read the Town notice regarding the conduct of
public virtual meetings.
• The committee approved the minutes of April 7, 2021.
Patriots Day, April 19, 2021
Door Decorating Program
• Sondra Lucente reported judging is done and winners have been chosen. Gift certificates
will be mailed to the winners, with the exception that the overall winner will have their
prize hand delivered.
• Geetha Padaki showed pictures of some of the decorated doors to the committee.
Library Programs
• All 3 programs have been completed. The John Rees program will be available on You
Tube and the Veterans Association web site. The Voices of 1775 program will be
available on You Tube and the Cary Library web site. The Carol Berkin program will
not be available for further viewing.
• June will send the links to the programs to the committee.
Miles and Smiles Program
• Wei Ding noted that this coming weekend is the last chance to participate.
• Wei showed the committee a presentation about the program and demonstrated the
interactive map and registration pages.
• Wei asked the TCC members to take and post their own smiles photos.
Patriots Day Parade
• Lorain Marquis reported that credits information has been sent to Lex Media for
inclusion in the parade video.
• Lorain noted that the awarding of the 2021 White Tricorn Hat, Minuteman Cane, and
Youth awards will be made and recorded this weekend and the videos given to Lex
Media to be added to the parade video.
• It was reported that Lex Media is still working on the schedule for Patriots Day. The
Lexington Minute Men re-enactment video will be shown at 5:30 am.
• When the Lex Media schedule is available, we will post it on the Patriots Day web site.
Publicity
• It was noted that the Boston Globe and WBZ will have some publicity for Lexington
Patriots Day activities.
• Sandy Podgorski reported that articles about Patriots Day activities will be published in
the next editions of the Lexington Minuteman paper and Colonial Times Magazine.
Memorial Day 2021
• June said it was the 160'h anniversary of the start of the Civil War. She is in talks with
local historians about a program about the Civil War on Lex Media. Approximately 120
Civil War veterans are buried in Munroe Cemetery, which could tie in with a cemetery
walk or self-guided tour.
• It was reported that we will be laying the usual wreaths for Memorial Day but there will
be no parade.
• Geetha suggested sponsoring a Trivia Bee.
• Glen suggested having static displays at some gravesites and publicizing their locations.
• Sandy noted that if we are going to put flags on the Green, we need to petition the Select
Board for permission.
The meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m. Next meetings: Wednesday, 4/28/21 and 5/12/21
