February 25, 2021 Meeting Minutes

Approval of Minutes: 1/21/21 (email vote)
Principal's Report:
• Update on pool testing - participation has remained about the same each week. A little
drop in student participation. Planning is going on to promote more participation. Still
have not identified large numbers of positive cases.
• A Community Input Team has been established at the district level to discuss a full return
to school. Discussions on what it would look like and how to make it happen. First
meeting will be on 2/26. Pre-K- grade 2 will be discussed as the priority.
• Scheduling for next year has been started for a full return in the fall. We will not go back
to a seven block schedule.Admin team has been looking into logistics and various
models.A survey will go out to staff to solicit feedback on elements that they may want
to hold on to and assignments for grade level/teams. Dr. Kavanaugh will assist with the
survey. Goal would be to have communication on schedule out before April vacation.
• Youth Risk Behavior Survey will be given this year. Friday WIN blocks will be used,
March 5 and 12, by cohort.All students in grades 7 and 8 (including RLA students)will
participate. A parent letter from Julie Fenn will be going out soon. Families may opt out.
Staff Report:
• New bulletin boards and posters around the school have been well received.
• Staff have given feedback that the school community meeting was frustrating to hear
misunderstandings around full re-opening. Also, concerns with messages circulating on
social media. Discussion followed around the understanding that we are prioritizing what
is best for our students.

• Expression of gratitude for all the work everyone has been doing this school year.
