The board reviewed the Community Health Report;
Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Chairperson, reviewed the draft document advisory regarding the
use of face coverings in response to COVID-19. The advisory has been drafted in accordance
with the essential businesses that must follow practices as outlined in Governor's Order No. 13
and Commissioner of Public Health order of March 25 in order to enhance social distancing in
grocery stores, pharmacies, and other essential businesses. After some discussion, John J. Flynn,
proposed a motion to approve the issuance of the draft advisory, as written, excluding the
requirement of wearing face coverings outdoors. Burt Perlmutter, M.D., second the motion. By
roll call, all were in favor.
Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Chairperson, reviewed the draft document advisory regarding the
request of owners, managers, and residents of senior housing and Lexington Housing Authority
properties to eliminate unnecessary visitation and to take protective measures to decrease spread
of COVID-19. All owners and operators of senior housing in the Town of Lexington and
properties managed by the Lexington Housing Authority to restrict visitation to units within their
properties except for those visits that are necessary to provide essential services, such as family
wellness checks, deliveries of food and medicine, or any other products necessary to maintain the
safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, or care from personal care assistants,
home care providers, or other medical professionals. After some discussion, Burt Perlmutter,
M.D., proposed a motion to approve the issuance of the draft advisory, as written. John J. Flynn,
second the motion. By roll call, all were in favor.
