Joint Meeting: Lexington Conservation Commission and Lexington Conservation Stewards
Monday, June 22, 2020, 6:30 p.m.
Pursuant to Governor Baker's March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open
Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor's March 15, 2020 and subsequent Orders
imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this Conservation
Commission meeting was held remotely via Zoom, an online meeting platform. Public Participation
via calling in or using your computer was encouraged.
Commissioners Present: Philip Hamilton, David Langseth, Kevin Beuttell, Alex Dohan, Ruth
Ladd, and Holly Samuels
Staff Present: Karen Mullins, Conservation Director

Stewardship Report: Project updates and work plan outlook for Summer and Fall 2020
The Conservation Commission and Conservation Stewards discussed past accomplishments and
potential projects for the upcoming year to prioritize and budget. Topics included: necessary
repairs to the Hayden Woods boardwalk, proposed trail improvements to Meagherville "Muddy
Angle", Lower Vine Brook vernal pond near Utica Street, Bowman School trail entrance, and the
Cataldo Reservation boardwalk.
FY21 Project Overview (7/l/20-6/30/21)
FY22 Budget Request Preparation (7/l/21-6/30/22)
5-Year Project Plan Review (FY 22 to FY 27)
It was recommended for the 6/29/20 meeting to draft a charge for adoption and appoint a
subcommittee to make recommendations for project prioritization for the FY 22-26 Capital Budget
process due in September.
On a motion by Mr. Langseth and seconded by Ms. Ladd, the Commission voted 6-0 by roll call
vote to adjourn the meeting at 8:42 PM
