HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-04-16-BASS-min Board of Assessor's Meetf,,ng Open Session Minutes April 16,2020 M A remote participation meeting of the Lexington Board of Assessors was called to order at 9 15 am.on Thursday,April 16,2020 via Zoom remote meet'ng services.Gregory Johnson,Chairman, Edmund C.Grant,Member Casim�r Groblewski,Member were present as we[il as Robert F. Lent,Director of Assessing,Todd Laramie, Residential Inspector/AnWyst,Scott Bouthiette,, Resident4l Inspector/Analyst and Sandra Pentedemos,,Administrative Assessor. The Chairman,Gring is being held in accordance with Governor Baker's March 12,2020 Executive Order suspending certain provisJons of the Open Meeting Law to al"I'low remote participatillon during Massachusetts'State of Emergency due to the outbreak of COVI D-19. Mr, Johnson provided iinstructrons to the members of the public,who were watching or listening to the meeti1LfCation regarding the procedure of making a public comment. OQen,S s Public Comment Time, None present, There were no&scuss-ons of Financial Issues including Overlay Fund,, Chairman Johnson made a motion that the Board of Assessors go into Executive Session under Purpose 7�in order to deliberate Fiscal Year 2020 Statutory Exemptions, Real Estate Abatement Applications and Personal Property Abatements since deliberation in Open Session could be detrimental to potential appeal or litigation matters,consistent with requirements and practices specified in the Open Meeting Law Guide. The Board voted,3-0,in favor to go into Executive Session at 9,30 a.m. Executive Session occurred here: details may be viewed ire r te Executive Session folder. Upon mot-on d u ly made and seconded, the Boa rd of Assesso rs adjou rned I he Executive Session at 10,15 a,m.a nd returned to Ope n Sessio n of the Meefing. Oven Session The Boa rd u nanimous ly voted 3-0 in favor of sixteen denials and approved 4 of the F isca I Yea r 2020 C h apte r 59 Sect on 59, Rea I Estate Applications.(See list in Executive r® The Board unanimously voted 3-0 in favor of 5 approved Fiscal Year 2020 Chapter 59 Section 59, Personal Property Abatement applications (See List in Executive folder). The Board unanimously voted 3-0 in favor of the approved and denial statuses of the Fiscal Year 2020 Chapter 59, Section 5 Various Maluses of Statutory Exemption applications. (See list in Executive folder). There were no pending Appellate Tax Board actioos to discuss. No decisions had to be made 'The Board postponed discussion of previous Meeting Minutes.
