any new information is available
-There are informational links in principal's newsletter
-Remember- this is a scary time and we need to be KIND to each other
*School Security
-There is now a check-in table set up in hallway as you enter LHS through front doors
-this improves security and alleviates traffic in front office during busy times
-Ms. Duly and Mr. Wise are school monitors- they take turns and the table and
walking around the school
-we have secured outer perimeter of school by 90% by locking doors
-inside quad- each building only has one unlocked door
-issue is still main building/main office because it is far from front door
*1 Block Absences
-If a student misses I Block and it is not excused, and email is sent to parents

Discussion
*Curriculum Night
-90% of people who attended were first year LHS parents
-Math presentation was standing room only
-move to different location next year to accommodate more people

-most of these parents have kids already in LHS
-Feedback from Principal's Talk at Curriculum Night
-positive
*Upcoming 9th Grade Parent Night
-Counseling department takes over discussion

*Stretch Recommendation Data
-Stretch recommendation is when a student is encouraged to take a higher level class
-Not much data from 2018-2019
-Stretch Placement Data 2019-2020
-an imperfect but inaugural look at student outcomes
-collect data to see how all programs are working
-most kids who were recommended to stretch did it after academic advising
-they are doing well: Q1 average was an 86
-most kids who were recommended were not on a 504 or IEP plan
-should we do something about this?
-how would we support these kids?
-we will collect data year to year to spot trends
-the instinct of the teacher (who usually recommends the stretch) is by and large
correct
-post course reflection
-ask students if they were glad they stretched
*Rtl- Response to Intervention
-Tier 1 Intervention
-core-curriculum and instruction
-happens between student and teacher
-Tier 2 Intervention Data
-what is goal of Rtl?
-smaller number of kids
-more strategic interventions
-intervention of teacher is not enough
-examples of intervention
-learning center for different departments
-peer to peer tutoring
-teacher fills out a google form when recommending a student for services and it is
sent to any teacher/staff connected with that student, including dean and counselor
-Tier 3 Intervention
-few students
-more intense
-student support team oversees the progress of each student and is assigned to a
dean who supports the team
