EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2005
MINUTES
Chairman Scott F. Burson called the meeting to order at 8:00 am. Present
from the Executive Committee: Tom Griffiths,, Jeanne Krieger, and Rabbi
Howard J. Jaffe. Also present: Library Director, Connie Rawson and
Assistant Library Director, Nanci Milone Hill.
Secretary's Minutes
Scott Burson moved to accept the minutes of Wednesday, November 9,,
2005. Jeanne Krieger seconded the motion and it was voted unanimously.
Graphic Novel
Scott Burson passed around a graphic novel,, "The Rabbi's Cat",, for
everyone to see what a graphic novel consisted of
Consolidating with the Foundation
Unrestricted funds will be going into the endowment.

has been formed to *investigate the needs of the East Lexington Branch
Library.
State Aid
The library should spend 13% of the budget to qualify for State Aid. Last
year 8% was spent. The Foundation is helping to augment the materials
budget.
Composition of the Executive Board
There will be a discussion with the entire Board of Trustees at the semi-
annual meeting to ask for ratification.
Exterior Building Decorations
The Administration with the help of the Garden Club will decide about the
decorations on the outside of the library building. A large wreath has been
donated by Wilson Farms for the big window on the Massachusetts Avenue

It was recommended that a committee be set up to bring a
Semi-Annual Meeting in the spring. Rabbi Jaffe has offered to serve on this
committee.
Building Security
There have been a few very serious incidents in the library lately. Joe
O'Leary, from the Lexington Police Department, will be coming to talk to
the staff on Staff Development Day on December 2na
