MINUTES
Chairman Scott Burson called the meeting to order at 8:00am. Present from
the Executive Committee: Helen Cohen, Jeannie Krieger,, Peter Meek and
Richard Pagett. Present from the Foundation: Kerry Brandin, Alan Fields
and Chris Roth. Also present: Connie Rawson, Library Director and Nanci
Milone Hill,, Assistant Director.
Secretary's Minutes
Helen Cohen made the motion to accept the minutes of May 11, 2005. Peter
Meek seconded the motion and it was voted unanimously.
Historic District Commission
The committee will do a little more research on volunteers who would like
to serve on this commission representing the library and bring suggestions to
the next Executive Committee meeting.
Trustees Governance Structure
There are three groups on the Executive Committee, representatives from the
Selectmen,, the School Committee and the Clergy. In September a
nominating committee is formed to recommend members to the Trustees in
October to vote on for the following year. The process will be reviewed by
the entire body of Trustees.
Minuteman Power Outage
The Minuteman Library Network.had a power outage recently that lasted for
one and one half days. It was discovered that they don't have a back up
plan. MLN Directors are working with Minuteman staff to identify a
solution for this problem.
Cart/ Library Foundation
Alan Fields submitted a Projected Expenses for FY06 and FY07. (Copy on
file.)
The last payment to the Town of Lexington for the library portion of the
construction expenses will be made of June 6, 2005. There will then be a
final accounting by the foundation and then they will start build ing the
endowment.
Pictures
Connie displayed pictures that were donated by Carol A. Mahoney of the
new library building.
Peter Meek motioned to adjourn the meeting. Helen Cohen seconded the
motion and it was voted unanimously.

The Executive Board of the Cary Memorial Library Trustees met this
morning,, Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at 8:00 AM. The decision was
made,, at that time,, to nominate Carl Oldenburg, for the Selectmen's
consideration as the Library's Associate representative to the Historic District
Commission,
