EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
January 24, 2001 -- 8:00 A.M.
MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rev. Dr. Peter H. Meek at 8:10 A.M.
at Cary Hall, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue. Present were: Cathy Abbott, Scott
Burson, and Rev. Jed N. Snyder. Alsopresent. Carol A. Mahoney, Director and
Cynthia Johnson, Assistant Director.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Carol Mahoney is in the process of setting up a ribbon cutting ceremony for the
library's temporary location at Cary Hall. The Selectmen will be invited to attend.
Trustees/Executive Committee meeting dates, 2001
The 2001 meeting dates were distributed. (Copy on file) Please note:
1.) All of the meetings will be held at Cary Hall.
2.) The semi - annual and annual meetings starting has been changed to 8:00
A.M. A continental breakfast will still be served.
Everyone was asked to check their calendars for an Executive Committee Working
Session to be held in March before Town Meeting.
Library ens at Cary Hall
Cary Library opened at Cary Hall on January 22, 2001 at 9:00 A.M.
The East Lexington Branch hours have been expanded:
9 -9 Monday — Thursday
9 -5 Friday
Closed Satuday and Sunday
The library staff was very pleased with the movers, William B. Meyer, Inc. A
letter of thanks will be going to the company and also a letter that they could use in
their advertising.

The School Department held a luncheon for the librar staff on Januar 19, 2001.

The librar park*m* permits that were used for the librar parkin lot are no lon
valid.
Construction Update
The PBC has been meetin re to review the librar bid documents. The
final documents should be complete b the end of 'Februar and biddin will take
place in March.
A Clerk of the Works will be hired and should be in April or Ma

The Foundation Board met on Januar 20,2001. Mar Baffin has pulled

the office.
