Business:
• Lorain convened the meeting at 7:04 pm and read the Town notice regarding the conduct
of public virtual meetings.
• Lorain introduced Mona Roy and Tanya Gisolfi of the Lexington Human Rights
Committee. Mona and Tanya described the Human Rights Committee and its activities
and asked if the Town Celebrations Committee would be willing to collaborate with the
Human Rights Committee in future activities. The TCC voted to become a collaborative
partner with the Human Rights Committee. The vote will be confirmed at the next TCC
meeting.
• Lorain asked TCC members to send her any invoices they may have for purchases for the
committee so she can make a final consolidated report to the Select Board for payment.
• Lorain reminded the committee that our next meeting on May 27 will include approving
any outstanding minutes and election of officers.
• Jill Hai reported that she has identified a possible place to store the Patriots Day banners:
the carriage house at the Community Center. Jill said that Mike Cronin, Director of
Public Facilities, will be in contact with Lorain.
• After some discussion about what TCC equipment needs to be stored, in addition to the
banners, and the fact that TCC will need easy access to the storage location, it was
determined that Lorain needs to set up a meeting with Mike Cronin and Christine Dean to
further discuss our storage needs.
• Jill suggested that the TCC compile a list of all the equipment and items needing storage
and give it to her so she can continue looking into storage locations in town.
Memorial Day 2020 (May 25, 2020):
• Lorain asked the committee to distribute the article Linda Dixon has written about the
Memorial Day video to their online contacts.
• Linda mentioned that the Lexington Minuteman paper has asked for photos of this year's
Memorial Day preparations so they can publish a photo spread about the activities in next
week's paper. Glen Bassett volunteered to capture some still photos from the video after
it is released by Lex Media. June will give Glen the online location of the video so he
can download it.
The meeting adjourned at 7:54 p.m. Next meeting: Wednesday, 5/27, at 7 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Suzanne Caton, Secretary
