Veteran's Day Breakfast on November 2, 2019: • Lorain thanked the committee for all their work at the breakfast. She reported that everyone thought the breakfast went well. • As part of a review of the breakfast, the following points were made: o There were so many door prizes that it took a long time to give them all out. Perhaps next year we can set a maximum number of door prizes allowed. o There was some discussion about how to expedite handing out the prizes including posting the winners on a board so they can pick up their prizes after the program. o Next year we should make sure to remind the Rotary members to serve the VIPs sitting at the front of the hall first. o Everyone felt that the composting arrangements worked very well. o The IAL volunteers who helped at the coffee table reported that they were happy with their role at the breakfast. The IAL donated $250 to TCC to underwrite the breakfast. o Consensus about the slide show was that the veterans enjoyed it. o The sound system for the program was not turned up high enough so it was difficult to hear the speakers. Veterans Day Parade and Program, November 11, 2019: 0 The parade roster was discussed and some changes made. • Rita Pandey reported that the booklet containing the essays written by the high school students is ready to send to the printer. The program is also ready to be printed. • Sue Stering reported that only one poster was submitted this year. Since the student's name is not available for inclusion in the booklet, the name will be announced during the program. Sue also reported that the student art work has not yet been received although 4 or 5 pieces are expected. Those student names will also be announced at the program. • Seating arrangements were discussed and it was decided that they will be finalized on Friday at the walk-through of the program. • Paul Jenkins reported that he has the 5 service flags and will deliver them to Cary Hall early Monday morning. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted Suzanne Caton, Secretary
