Approval of February minutes
Community Needs Assessment
Michelle Kelleher announced this initiative to study recreational needs for Lexington. It will be done by
PROS Consulting from Indiana. Project Manager Austin Hochstetler will be doing a 6 month synthesis of
community input, survey results and financial evaluation to prepare a report that will provide a realistic
strategic action plan to ensure long term success and financial sustainability. COA board members
brainstormed suggestions and responded to SWOT analysis (strengths,weaknesses, opportunities and
threats).

Michelle Kelleher
• St Patrick's Day Lunch 3/17 assisted by high school students 12-IPM
• Eighty Something author talk by Katherine Esty, PhD 3/24 10:30-11:30
• Trip to Amish Country 4/27-29 needs 8 more people to run
• Newport Playhouse trip 3/26
• Uber training has gone well with 9 students who received community service hours
Hemali Shah-Assistant Director
• A few have applied for financial aid $5,000 from Dana Home Grant available for respite,
• Senior Resource Fair 3/5 2-4PM at Community Center. 12 vendors of senior services available.
Age Friendly
Committee members looked at other towns senior parking programs with goal of recommending
senior parking for Lexington; Newton,Waltham,Watertown, Medford, Maynard.They will prepare a
proposal for the town; to discuss COA in April.

Liason Reports
Minuteman Senior Services Gary Fallick leaving Board; new board member to be named
Transportation-Sudhir Jain Lexpress bus routes change to enhance efficiency
Brookhaven wants to pay$5000 annually to have Lexpress serve residents but each route costs
$100,000. Would like to reduce single occupancy cars by 15%.
FCOA-Sudhir Jain notes$13,023 donations received, expenses$2234. $500 donated to Help Around
Town.
Commission on Disability-Bonnie Teitleman- presentation by Cristina Burwell on the Munroe Center;
discussion of Parker Meadow Conservation Area,Willard's woods and other conservation trails.
Human Services Committee-Betty Borghesani
Recreation Committee Julie Ann Shapiro-participated in Annual Partnership Meeting where LCC 5 year
celebration,Age Friendly and Community Needs Assessment were discussed.
Vision 20/20 Jyotsna Kakullavarapu 4/2 7-9PM Future Panel-Challenges and Opportunities for Lexington
at Cary Hall with Moderator Jay Kaufman, and speakers Julie Hackett, superintendent of schools;
Nariman Behravesh, Economist; Daniel O'Brien, PhD.
Lexington Housing Authority-no update
Housing Partnership- Rich McDonough asking selectmen to advocate for the passage of housing choice
for State Affordable housing; proposed eligibility for attainable housing.
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee- Rich McDonough not yet appointed
Mental Health Task Force-Ellen Cameron meeting upcoming on 3/20
