Review of Warrant Articles for Special Town Meeting The Commission already voted in May to support 186 Bedford Street. The Hartwell Avenue project will take years of planning, but reassurances have been made that vehicular access, pedestrian access and handicapped accessibility are in the forefront of concerns. Concerns about AAB Director Position The AAB Director is chosen by law by the board. The Governor has changed this to the DPL (Division of Professional Licensure). The Commission voted to have Victoria send a letter to the Governor stating that the board should choose the next director, and that the new director should report to the AAB as the statute requires. Copies of the letter will be sent to the Attorney General, Senator Michael Barrett and Representative Michelle Ciccolo. Concerns about Voting Privacy for Citizens with Disabilities Janet spoke with Nadie—there are issues with electronic voting and paper ballots. More work needs to be done before 2020 elections. Update on New Projects Jim Kelly talked about a new project on Hartwell Avenue where he asked the contractor to modify the handicapped access they had just constructed to meet code and the contractor complied. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm. Minutes respectfully submitted by Victoria Buckley 1
