Operating and staff budgets are under principal's control. Operating budget amount set by district. Furniture and "Enriching Students" software come out of this budget. o Next week is the meeting to talk about staffing budget. Request to reduce the load on department heads' teaching requirements or alternate proposal for World Language, English and History gets a teacher to cover the core class and each picks up an elective teaching class. (Consideration for using these staff as substitutes?) o Reserve budget for additional staff if enrollment increases. Most likely for off-team classes because total enrollment for next year looks about the same. o How to purchase for alternatives beyond standing desks? Would come out of operating budget, through a request to Jen. • Power outage earlier in the month. When it first went out, we didn't know the circumstances or how bells would work. After learning circumstances and check on hall lights, we continued our day as usual. Intercom, internet, and phones don't work during power outage. • Back to School Night at the beginning of October worked out well. All positive feedback. Major concern was around parking - all fire lanes were used for parking. Next year we will request a police detail at the end of each driveway to redirect to alternate parking at Pilgrim Church and Fiske. o Is a "back to school morning" a possibility for the future? Staff Report: • Cookie dough fundraiser and direct donations were super successful this year. • Lexington Learns Together is November 8. Staff in the district offer sessions for each other. • Parent conferences are coming up soon. o Eighth grade will be invite only; grades 6 and 7 will open up slots for parent sign-ups next week. 0 36 slots are available with the time alloted through the district calendar. Flexible 6th grade schedules and 7th grade field trip have opened up more spots for 6 and 7. Difficult to give up instructional time for conferences. o Would like to change the model in the future. o Eighth grade teams will be creating a google form to get feedback/questions from families. Member Input: • Construction punch-list has been completed, but still finding things here and there. • Sixth grade coffee last year was helpful for parents. • Web site to book conferences was confusing for sixth grade families who didn't know to look through tabs for specific team. • Online payments for Adjournment 7:58 am Next Meeting:
