MIDDLESEX, SS. Whereas, at a meeting of the County Commissioners for said County, at Cambridge
on the first Tuesday of January A.D. 1855 and by adjournment at the same place on the
tenth day of February A.D. 1855.
On the Petition of the Selectmen of Lexington, praying that the highway in
Lexington called the Waltham Road leading from the Boston road, opposite
the Lexington House to the road called the Concord Turnpike near the house
of Ebnr. [Ebenezer] R. Smith in said said Lexington may be altered, widened and
straightened.
it was adjudged that, said alterations, widening and straightenings
are of common convenience and necessity :
Said Commissioners therefore give notice that they will meet at the Lexington House
in Lexington on the sixth day of April next
at eleven of the clock in the forenoon, to locate accordingly,

To the Honorable County Commissioners of the
County of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts -
THE undersigned, Inhabitants of Lexington and
Waltham in said County of Middlesex, respectfully
represent - that the public convenience and necessity
require that a new road or public highway
should be laid out and constructed from the East Village
in said Lexington to a street called Trapilo St.,
in said Waltham, commencing at a point nearly
opposite the Post Office in said East village, and extending
southerly to a point near the house of Dr.
Hobbs in said Waltham, to connect with a new road
extending to the centre of Waltham, and the undersigned
respectfully pray that your Honorable Body
will view the premises and cause such road to be
laid out and constructed, according, to the form of
the Statute in such case made and provided.

MIDDLESEX SS. At a meeting of the County
Commissioners for said County of Middlesex,
at Concord, in said County, on the first Tuesday of
June, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-five,
On the foregoing petition, Ordered, that the Sheriff
of said County, or his Deputy, give notice to all
persons and corporations interested therein, that
said Commissioners will meet for the purpose of
viewing the premises and hearing the parties at the
Depot of the West Cambridge and Lexington Branch
Railroad in the East Village of Lexington, called
"Cutler's Depot," on Wednesday, the Eleventh day
of July next, at one of the clock in the afternoon, by
serving the Town Clerks of Lexington and Waltham
each with a copy of said petition and this order
thereon, thirty days at least before the said view, and
by publishing the same in the City Advertiser, a
newspaper, printed at Charlestown, three weeks
successively, the last publication to be fourteen days
at least before said view, and also by posting the
same in two public places in each of said towns of
Lexington and Waltham, fourteen days before said
views ; and that he make return of his doings herein,
to said Commissioners, at the time and place fixed
for said view and hearing.
