To Oliver W Kendall Constable of Lexington
Greeting;
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,
you are hereby required, to notify and warn the
inhabitants of the Town of Lexington, qualified by
law to vote in town affairs to assemble at the
Town Hall in said town on Monday the Second
day of March next at one o'clock P.M. to act on the
following Articles, Viz:
Art. 1. To choose a Moderator
Art. 2. To choose Town Officers for the ensuing year,
including one School Committee man for the
term of three years, and one for one year in
place of L. C. Childs resigned.
Art. 3. To adopt measures for Repairs of Highways the
ensuing year, and grant money for the same.
Art. 4. To adopt measures for supporting the Poor
the ensuing year
Art 5. To see what sum of money the Town will
appropriate for support of its Public Schools,
including their several grades, the ensuing year,
or act in any manner relating thereto

Art 6. To adopt measures for Collecting Taxes the
ensuing year
Art 6. To see if the Town will authorize and empower
the Collector of Taxes to use any and all means of
collecting the taxes committed to him to collect,
which may be lawfully used by the Town Treasurer,
when acting as Collector
Art 7. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer
(under the direction of the Selectmen) to borrow

Pursuant to the within warrant I have notified
the Inhabitants of the town of Lexington, herein
distributed, to meet at the time and place, and for
the purposes within mentioned.

Art 6. To adopt measures for Collecting Taxes the
ensuing years
Art 7. To see if the Town will authorize and empower
the Collector of Taxes to use any and all means of
collecting the taxes committed to him to collect
which may be lawfully used by the Town Treasurer
when acting as Collectors.
Art 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Treas-
urer (under the direction of the Selectmen) to borrow
such sum or sums of money as may be necessary to
defray Town expenses the ensuing year in anticipa-
tion of the Taxes of 1868.
Art 9. To see if the Town will repair or cause
to be repaired the road from Lexington to
Bedford, by the house of Daniel Cummings.
Art 10. To see if the Town will cut down the hill
near the house of Josiah Smith; also one near the
Franklin School House in accordance with the
grade usually adopted by the County Commissioners
in laying out roads, or do anything in relation
to the same.
Art 11. To see if the Town will chose a board of
Auditing to audit the accounts of the year 1867-8
Art 12. To see what action the Town will take on the
recent order of the County Commissioners requiring
alterations in the grade and road bed of Pleas-
ant Street.
Art 13. To take action upon the offer of $1,000 made
by Mrs Maria Cary towards the establishment of a pub-
lic library free to all the inhabitants of the Town.
Art 14. To see if the Town will establish a free pub-
lic library.
Art 15. To see if the Town will erect a building
suitable for a public library.
Art 16. To consider the subject of Building a new
Town Hall, and act thereon.
Art 17. To see if the Town will make a further ap-
propriation for publishing the Town History.
Art 18. To hear the report of the Committee chos-
en in November to examine the sidewalk in
front of the estate of David Wood; and act
thereon
Art 19. To hear the report of the Committee
chosen to examine and report on the subject
of a new culvert leading into the pond near the
house of Mrs. Turner.
Art 20. To hear the report of the Committee chosen
in November to audit the accounts of the Contract-
ors on the New Road; and to see if the Town
will reimburse said Contractors or either of
them for their outlays over and above the con-
tract price.
Art 21. To hear reports of other Committees and act
thereon.
Hereof fail not and make return of this warrant
and your doing therein
to the Town Clerk one or before the time [illegible] fixed.

The Selectmen will be in session at the Town
Hall on Saturday Feby 29 [illegible] from 7 to 9 o clock
pm and on the day of Election from 12 o'clock PM
to 1 o'clock PM for the purpose of revising the
voting list, and to names will be inserted on
the list after the Poll is opened.
