My dear Sir: -
To you as a member of the Board of
Selectmen I transmit herewith the following papers:
(1) Duplicate of the agreement made by the town of Lexing-
ton_ and the Ifletropolitan_ Water & Sewerage Board, dated Jar_. 31 ,
1903.
(2) Certified copy ( signed by W. N. Davenport , Secretary,
under date of Feb. 14 , 1903) of a vote passed by the Board admit-
ting the town_ of Lexington into the Iletropolitan Water District.
(This vote acknowledges payment of the $27 ,250, and the execution_
of the required agreement , i. e. the agreement above mentioned) .
(3) Certified copy of votes ( sign_ed by W. N. Davenport ,
Seey. , under date of Feb. 16, 1903) authorizing the execution and
delivery to the town_ of Lexington_ of a release of all the interest
of the Commonwealth and the Board in all that portion_ of the 10-
inch main water pipe laid in Massachusetts Avenue which extends
in the town of Lexington_ from a point 30 feet distant westerly
from the Lexington-Arlington town_ line.
(4) Original of the release referred to , the sane being
dated and acknowledged Jar_. 13, 1903. This release had, I think,
G.W. T. 2.
best be recorded in the Reg'i stry of Deeds at East Ca:.'arid.ge.
There is a conveyance on record whereby this pipe was transferred
by the town_ of Arlington to the Co=ion_wealth; and now that the
Commonwealth has released the same to the town_ of Lexington_, the
new conveyance should also be recorded.
( 5) A budget of draft votes and papers originally given to
you by the IvIetropolitan_ Water Board.
The duplicate contract herewith enclosed should always be re-
tained in the custody of the Town_ Clerk, for the purpose of show-
ing what the agreement is that the town_ has executed and deliv-
ered to the Commonwealth. •
