plastering, granolithic floors, etc., in connec-
tion with finishing the east and west ends of base-
ment corridor, as shown by detail No 48, and for
sheathing the back of said partitions with yellow

For building rising platforms in Lexture Room, as shown
by detail No. 50 134.60

The foregoing changes are hereby approved as represented and
described, and this day ordered to be attached to the contract.
All claims for extension of time within which to complete the
building, based upon alterations, changes and additions already
ordered (including those embraced herein) are hereby adjusted and
agreed to as entitling the contractor to twenty-two days, and only
twenty-two days, beyond August 15, 1902, i.e. to Sept. 6, 1902; it
being the intent hereof to provide that all parts of the work
heretofore and now respectively contracted for shall be completed
not later than said sixth day of September, and that the fifty
dollars ($50) per day liquidated damages stipulated in the main
contract shall accrue as to each and every day, if any, beyond
September 6, 1902, on which any of said work shall remain uncom-
pleted. As a part of this provisdion as to extension of time, it
is mutually agreed that the deliveries of kiln-dried finish shall
be withheld until Thursday, July 31st current, and that the work
of putting such finish in place (to be suspended until then) may
be begun on said Thursday and prosecuted without interruption
thereafter. In case the Architects or Committee should order any
further suspension of the work, the Contractor shall be entitled
to an extension of time beyond said sixth day of September, for
such number of days as the Architects and Committee (H.P.C by H W Allen) shall adjudge and certify
to be reasonable.
The Contractor hereby acknowledges the receipt of the speci-
fications and drawings representing and describing the above men-
tioned alterations, changes and additions.

It is mutually understood and agreed that the above alteration paper
No. 2 does not include extra items of $40. for plastering the elevator
wells and of $1.25 per foot for basement trenches, or deduction items
of $35. for cesspool and $50. for two 50 feet drains. No work connect-
ed with the above items shall constitute a claim for additional time
for completing the building beyond September 6th 1902.
