Lexington Water
Dear Sir; -
We have decided to illake the Town of Lexington the following prop'A
sition; work to be done on the property of Mr. Roberts ;
We will drive a sufficient number of 2 1/2" extra strong pipes and
extra couplings, all connected to six and 8, in. cast iron suction mains
with boss on side, and tapped for 2 ll2" pipes; the necessary connections,
for each well will be, one long turned tee, one lead connection, 11 lbs.

one ;ate valve, bolted gland stuffing box, one nipple, one 2 1/2" air
pipe, one road way box with. wrench, one cap, all the above fittings 2 1`2

through it , fitted with flanges ; and warrant the driven well system to
yield three hundred (300) gallons of water per minute for one year, for
the sum of five thousand dollars ( 5000. 00) .
We will also agree to burnish and lot to the Town of Lexington
for one year, at three dollars and twenty-five ct s. (VA3.25 ) per day,
pump, boiler, together with all necessary valves, air pump, feed pump etc.

This proposition is to furnish the mown of Lexington with the same
amount of water as at the Munroe Meadow, but it is very much more expensive.
We estimate more wells further apart , and a good deal of experimenting
will have to be done, piles driven for suction main, also for pump and
boiler, and it is more trouble to get boiler and pump on to the ground for
testing the quality of water. We think the amount of water is there,
but we shall be obliged to cover more ground to obtain the same amount
of viat er.
