Men of the town of Lexington
Gentlemen We, the subscribers respectfully
set forth that the road leading from
the Lincoln new road near the stone
farm and running from the road that
leads down to the farm of Mr Bowen
Tufts is in very bad order from
the junction of the said Tufts road
to the Cutler farm on the turnpike
and that it has not been properly
repaired for several years and we
would also set forth that there has
been an accident on the said road
by which much damage was done, a
carriage being destroyed and four persons
injured and we would further set forth
that the road turn so suddenly and
is so narrow at the junction of the
Tufts-road that it is not safe for
travel and we petition your honourable
body to make the road wider and
safer at this part, that we may be better
able to avoid such accidents
