Dear Sir :- I respectfully protest against the use at the town meeting to be held on Monday, March 4 , 1901, or any adj ourn..ent thereof , of any ballots bearing the nare of John F. Hut.ch-insori, cr a.ry other person, as can-didate for the office of Se l_ectman for the term of one year ; the ground of my obJection being that by the requirements of the statutes of the Commonwealth a�'1111 +Te votes duly passed by tl-ie inhabitants of said town, a. S-electman should be elected at said ineeti-_i ; or. b1arch 4th proximo, for the term of three years , a-rid that. it is and will be unlawful, under said statutes and votes , to elect , or attempt to elect , a SeiectcI_,:,,.,i t that meeting for any of ler or different term than three years . I protest , for the reasons herein given, against t/,e preparatioryi of any sypectimen or other ballots for urye in or in connection with the approaching tovvn, election, bearing the name of Jch n. F. Hutchinson as a candidate for tlae alleged office of Select3-awn for one year , or indicating in any way that votes are to be rece_,_vad for cr against any person: as a candidate for srch office, viz : Selectman for the term of one year .
