The Committee appointed at the March, Meeting,
to consider the subject of a new school-house in
the centre district, have attended to the duty assigne
and make the following report:
Your committee made a thorough examination
of the school-house, and gave two public hearings
at which a variety of views were expressed, and they
(the Comittee) ae unanimous in the opinion, that
practical enconomy and results to be attained would
not warrant the expenditure of money necessary to
remodel the old school-house. The lot on which it
stands, while central in location, is too small for the
purpose for which it is intended
- We, therefore recommend the
abandonment of the old school-house and lot, and
the erection of a commodious, school-house of not less
than eight rooms, on a lot to correspond.
