HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-07-09-LEX250-minSemiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) July 9, 2025 Meeting Minutes Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) convened in a virtual format via Zoom video conference on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at 4:30 PM by Mona Roy as allowed by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. Present Remotely: Mona Roy, Community Representative, Chair Bridger McGaw, Community Representative, Vice Chair Noah Michelson, Community Representative, Clerk Cleve Coats, Community Representative Steve Conners, Reenactment Community Representative Barry Cunha, Business Representative Bebe Fa!lick, Tourism Committee Representative Cerise Jalelian, Town Celebrations Committee Representative Melanie Lin, Community Representative Doug Lucente, Select Board Member Julie O'Leary, Civic Representative Paul O'Shaughnessy, Historical Organization Representative Ashley Rooney, Community Representative Jillian Tung, Music & Arts Representative Absent: Jane Hundley, LPS Representative • The meeting was called to order at 4:32 PM by M. Roy • Election o M. Roy moved the slate of officers as: Mona Roy, Chair; Bridger McGaw, Vice Chair; Noah Michelson, Clerk o The motion was seconded and passed by a unanimous roll call vote • Upcoming Reports and Deadlines o The Commission will report an overview report of Patriots' Day Weekend 2025 to the Select Board. M. Roy, B. McGaw, and N. Michelson will work together on preparing the report and presentation. o This report will also serve as the Commission's contribution to the Town's Annual Report. • VO250 Working Group Update o Work is ongoing to collect submissions of hours in order to reach Lexington's 250,000 hour goal. • Community Partner Events o A working group has been established to identify and coordinate partner events being put on by groups in the community. The working group consists of: Barry Cunha, Bebe Fa!lick, Ashley Rooney, Dawn McKenna, Simon Rubenstein. • Possible Future Initiatives o Expanding the list of community events that the Commission helps to elevate o A significant community celebration in July 2026, tying in with America 250 efforts • Next meeting: August 6, 4:30 PM • The meeting was adjourned at 5:28 PM Respectfully Submitted, Noah Michelson
