HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-04-09-LEX250-minSemiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) April 9, 2026 Meeting Minutes Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) convened in a virtual format via Zoom video conference on Thursday April 9th, 2026 at 4:30 PM by Mona Roy as allowed by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. Present remotely: Mona Roy, Community Representative, Chair Bridger McGaw, Community Representative, Vice Chair Noah Michelson, Community Representative, Clerk Cleve Coats, Community Representative Steve Conners, Reenactment Community Representative Kerry Dunne, LPS Representative Bebe Fa!lick, Tourism Committee Representative Cerise Jalelian, Town Celebrations Committee Representative Doug Lucente, Select Board Member Julie O'Leary, Civic Representative Paul O'Shaughnessy, Historical Organization Representative Ashley Rooney, Community Representative Sandhya Iyer, Economic Development Director Dawn McKenna, 9 Hancock St. Absent: Barry Cunha, Business Representative Melanie Lin, Community Representative Jillian Tung, Music & Arts Representative • The meeting was called to order at 4:34 by M. Roy • Archive Working Group update o Need to meet next week; working on engaging partners. • VO250 update o Arch lighting on Friday April 17 at 8:30 PM, after awards ceremony. o Giving out pins from 6:15 PM to 6:45 PM for participants who have submitted at least 100 hours. • Signature Events update o The Presidential panel for the Visitors Center has been ordered; an event debuting the panels will be planned. o Witness to 1775 tours are now on the calendar. Tours will take place on May 16th and were developed in collaboration with Freedom's Way and Economic Development staff. Tours will feature free admission to one of the historic houses courtesy of Lexington History Museums. • Member Updates o Road closures for Patriots' Day Weekend have been posted to the Town website. o More adult volunteers are needed to support Patriots' Day Weekend activities. o A number of LPS teachers have been admitted to Rev250 academic learning opportunities. • Next meeting: To Be Announced • The meeting was adjourned at 5:02 PM Respectfully Submitted, Noah Michelson
