January 8, 2026 Meeting Minutes
Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250)
convened in a hybrid format in the Select Board Meeting Room at the Town Office Building and
via Zoom video conference on Thursday January 8, 2026 at 4:30 PM by Mona Roy as allowed
by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts
Open Meeting Law.
Present in person:

• The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by M. Roy

o The Archive working group will gather information, archive footage, and draft
recommendations for future major anniversary celebrations.
o The working group will consist of N. Michelson, P. O'Shaughnessy, S. Conners,
J. O'Leary, and relevant members of the public.

o The next arch lighting will be January 10 Arch, following the Illumination Night
event around 7 PM. The arch lighting will be recognizing the work of the MLK
Week of Service organizers.
• Events
o The Signature Events Calendar is still being updated regularly.
o A separate calendar will be published with Patriots' Day Weekend Events.
• Support for MLK Week of Service Activities
o M. Roy moved to provide $1000 of financial support to MLK Week of Service.
■ Motion was seconded, and passed by a unanimous roll call vote with D.
Lucente abstaining.

• Coinciding with a recipe book put out by Field and Garden Club,
covering ancillary costs to restaurants for recreating recipes from
book

• Serving as culminating event for 250th celebrations
• N Michelson moved to approve memorandum and attached documents, pending any
typographic changes, for presentation to the Select Board.
o Unanimous approval by all present (B. Cunha, M. Roy, C. Coats, S. Conners, J.
O'Leary, N. Michelson, C. Jalelian) with D. Lucente abstaining
• Next meeting: January 13, at 4:30
• The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 PM
