June 26 Meeting Minutes
Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250)
convened in a hybrid format in the Parker Room at the Town Office Building and via Zoom video
conference on Wednesday June 26 at 4:30 by Ms. Barry as allowed by legislation (S.2475)
extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.

• The meeting was called to order 4:31 PM at by Ms. Barry
• Upcoming Meeting Schedule
o See documents sent out via email
• Minutes
o Corrections to June 6: Jane and Noah not present, typo
o Ms. Barry moved approval, and the motion was seconded. Motion approved
unanimously by roll call vote.
• Parker's Prelude Planning Team Update
o Held site visit last week along with public safety and health. Minutemen
reenactors will be doing a scaled down encampment.
o Cake update: discussing best practices about leaving cake out for an extended
period of time. Distributing all cupcakes; leave dummy portion of cake and put
real portion back into fridge immediately
o Questions remain on finding volunteers for activities, possibility of cards for vets
(Julie is asking DAR), need point person for volunteer for events
o Bringing in 4 porta potties on advice of DPW
o For Minutemen: no digging, no fires, meeting with Dave Pinsonneault to discuss
staking into the Green.
• Final Schedule for April 2025
o Final schedule is needed for staff and MEMA planning, as well as Anthem
logistics.
o Chief: All 4 communities collaborating on creating a map for MEMA. Schedule is
most important right now.

o There exists the possibility of combining the awards
ceremony with a ball being put on by the Knight of
Columbus. Their original plan had been leaning towards
holding it in October, but they were unaware of this
potential opening in April.

• Paul Revere ride reenactment

• Reenactment
o British arrive around 3:30
• Parker's revenge
o TBD; the road race is flexible and can fit in-between.
Wreath laying etc. can be moved to Monday to make time.
o Closer to the end of reenactment is best for public safety.
Shortly after the end, Minutemen march to St. Brigid's;
police can keep Mass Ave closed for this.

o Reenactors will be provided bus from battle rd along with
police escort, inserted at Mass Ave and Marret Rd at an
appropriate spot.

■ LPD: considerations for dignitary parking, access; SEAR rating will be
affected, media coming

■ No objections among commission about inviting Royal family

• Added EATC, former governors, other IMA towns, tribal leaders
■ Are invitations to the office or to a person?
• Concord is inviting Kamala Harris
• Optics of inviting office is more neutral and equitable
■ Public safety needs list by end of July
o Ms. Roy moved to approve the report as amended, seconded, approved
unanimously by roll call vote.
• Next meeting: July 10 at 4:30 PM in Parker Room and via Zoom
• The meeting was adjourned at 6:10
