Motion: Meeting called to order at 7:45am by Jenny Corduck.
I. Welcome/Announcements/Parent Feedback - Questions for the group
• Jenny shared purpose of Site Council, update on start of school year and new
themes introduced to students (Kindness Clips & Choose Kindness)
• The group had a discussion related redistricting and pending School Committee
meeting were draft plans will be presented. Jenny will put in Bowman News the
follow up meetings were public comment is solicited. Concerns were expressed
regarding staff and family implications.
• PTA Fundraiser recap - "Teacher Experience Auction" raised $4800.00
• A member suggested a communication to parents related to EEE concerns and
recess/B BY
II. Review 2019-2020 SIP
Jenny distributed copies of the SIP to council members who reviewed the document.
A suggestion was made concerning transgender lessons which were added to the
"Dismantling Racism" curriculum that parent communication occur prior to the lessons
being taught so that families are aware in advance.
Jenny shared that Dr. Hackett has discussed changing the format of the LPS SIP to
something different and inviting members of the school committee to our schools.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:45am.
