New Business
FY 2020 goals-Julie Ann, Betty, Melissa attended a well-facilitated meeting with town committees to
determine general goals for the town. It's unclear how specific goals will be identified.
Ellen Cameron suggested adding behavioral health to goal 3
Staff Reports

• Partnering with Fire Department to provide free knox boxes to eligible seniors. Alicia to conduct
eligibility assessment.
• Alicia will be doing quarterly presentations on health related topics on LexMedia; ideas for
program title welcomed
• Senior Services has received $5000 from Dana Home to provide respite assistance to caregivers
looking for support
• Working on Caregiver Resource Guide
• New Lexington Life Times issue available online
Christine Dean Community Center
• Fall programs online, registration opens 8/19/19
• Ellen Cameron to teach Walk with Ease. FCOA provided funding for instructor
• End of summer party 8/23

• Successful summer programs: Greek lunch with 55 diners, Block Island trip had 55 travelers, ice
cream social had 50 seniors,Teller of Tales taking place on 8/14 from 2-413M, Lake Region NH
Mama Mia and turkey lunch has 44 theater fans registered, Lion's Club BBQ 8/27 has 70 diners
• Caregiver's Support group will be held 5:30PM the first Tuesday of the month

• Attending Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meeting w/Recreation Director to present
LCC facility needs as well as discussing housing and transportation needs. Meeting taking place
on 8/13 at 7PM at Estabrook; Board members encouraged to attend
• Mental Health Task Force to draft a report for autumn:what we've done, will do. Has 3 year
CHNA grant for$59,500 which goes for consulting, data and research, crisis response plan
Julie Ann has heard positive reports on: nutritional consults, Uber workshop, Charlie Card renewal,
donations to thrift shop, transportation workshop, afternoon movies

Minuteman Senior Services-Gary Fallick- Meals on Wheels site visit with Congresswoman Katherine
Clark
Transportation-Sudhir Jain-Survey and community forum results showed need for night/weekend
transportation, Dana Home will subsidize Lexpress$3,875;Tri-town study will have public forum 9/18 9-
11AM at Community Center; Lexpress will be celebrating its 401h anniversary on 9/2111-12:30 at Depot

Disability Commission-Bonnie Teitleman- Update on HDC guidelines, review of commission priorities for
Selectmen

Housing Partnership-Rich McDonough-developing 186 Bedford Street; discussion of establishing right to
counsel for people being evicted
Age Friendly Lexington-John Zhao-survey yielded 980 responses,waiting for summary from UMass in
fall
