Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, September 5t", 2019

Members Absent: Joe Hankins, Jim Athens, Karen Duperey, Charles Mabardy, Myles Cutler
1. Due to the expected bad weather, our car wash is being moved to next Saturday
(September 14th) at the Belmont Car Wash. There will be a new sign up sheet but
members are encouraged to show up even if they weren't able to sign up. If you can only
come for an hour, that works as well.
2. We are doing our LYC Island Clean-Up on Wednesday, September 11 at 5:15 pm. It will
last around an hour to an hour and 30 minutes. Pizza and water will be served.
3. Our t-shirt design will be the same as last year on the front but different on the back.
Members were asked to come up with designs that will be voted on at the next meeting.
4. For our winter fundraiser we will be doing raffle tickets like we did last year. They will
be given out at our October meeting and must be sold by our December meeting. We
discussed the possibility of selling in groups and the option of selling tickets for $5
instead of$10. We decided to keep ticket prices at$10 and do a blitz if we have trouble
selling all of them.
5. We introduced our Halloween event on October 31 st where we hang balloons in
Lexington center. We will meet at the quad at 11:30 am and walk to the center together.
The event will be further discussed at our October Meeting. Members must be signed out
of school by their parents through a phone call to their dean secretary.
6. This year we have a senior Valentine's Day event on February 14th and a senior Holiday
Luncheon on December 17th. Members will pick one to attend so that attendance is
spread out.
7. We introduced our Cradles to Crayons event that will happen in January. More details
will be discussed at our December meeting.
8. We discussed our LYC Facebook group that will keep members updated on events and
meetings. To be added to the group, members can friend Andrew Lawrence or Hobie
Swan on Facebook.
9. We took sizes for our LYC sweatshirts.
10. Members that did not bring their CORI information should bring it to Deb's office at
LHS (room 202). This should include a signed form and a copy of a photo ID.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 10 at 7 PM in the Community Center
Dining Room.
