Commissioners Absent: Susan Bennett, Wendall Kalsow. Associate Commissioners Present: David Kelland. Associate Commissioner Absent: Chair Robert Rotberg called the April 16, 2026 Historical Commission meeting to order at 7:00 pm. th AGENDA ITEM #1: Approval of meeting minutes of the meetings held on March 18, 2026 & April th 15, 2026 th Mr. Kelland made a motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held on March 18, 2026 as submitted. Ms. Fenollosa seconded. Motion carried. 4-0, All in favor. th The approval of meeting minutes of the meeting held on April 15, 2026 will continue to next meeting. AGENDA ITEM #2: Public Hearing regarding the Partial Building Demolition (Additions) at 24 Percy Road APPLICANT(S) PRESENT: Patrick Guthrie, Architect ABUTTER(S) PRESENT: none DOCUMENT(S): Homeowner Letter: dated March 18, 2026 Comparison of Existing and Proposed Elevations: dated March 18, 2026 Individual Building Form from Lexington Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey: dated March 18, 2026 Photos of existing structure: dated March 18, 2026 Project Description: dated March 18, 2026 SUMMARY: Patrick Guthrie, architect, presents the proposed modification plans, site plan, and comparison of elevation plans for this structure at 24 Percy Road. The shape of the turret is echoed in the polygonal porch at the right-hand end of the façade and in the three-sided enclosed entry porch. No public comments. HC COMMENTS: The Commission agreed that the modified additions plans were appropriate. MOTION: Ms. Fenollosa made a motion that 24 Percy Road is preferably preserved and significant building for purposes of the demolition delay bylaw, but Historical Commission permitted and approved the Historical Commission 1 th changes suggested by the documentation presented at the meeting dated April 16, 2026. Mr. Kelland seconded. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Kelland – Yes, Ms. Fenollosa – Yes, Ms. Pursley – Yes, Mr. Rotberg – Yes. Motion carried 4 to 0. Motion carried. All in favor. AGENDA ITEM #3: Discuss Historic Schools Page on HC Website The Commission discussed adding five schools (Fiske School-55 Adams Street, Harrington School-146 Maple School, Jonas Clarke School-17 Stedman Road, William Diamond School-99 Hancock Street, and former Parker School-314 Bedford Street) to the Massachusetts Cultural Resource Inventory. The notice letters will be sent to the owner after the meeting. Those four public schools owned by the Town will be exempt from the provision of the demolition delay bylaw. A demolition delay Bylaw amendment will be submitted for the 2027 Annual Town Meeting. AGENDA ITEM #4: Input from Commissioners on other matters st The Commissioners made a motion to move the May Historical Commission meeting to May 21, 2026. Motion carried. All in favor. AGENDA ITEM #5: Input from the public on other matters None AGENDA ITEM 6: Adjourn Ms. Fenollosa made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Kelland at 7:36pm. Motion carried. All in favor.
