HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-01-21-BOH-min (Tri Ton Coaltion).docx TriBurlington.Lexington.Wilmington Ton Coalition Advisory Board- Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Meeting Meeting Minutes January 21, 2026 2:00 PM via Webex Attendees: Susan Lumenello, Director Burlington Board of Health, Shelly Newhouse, Director Wilmington Board of Health, Alicia McCartin, Director Lexington Board of Health, Rebecca Marion, Public Health Nurse, and Orysia Hanushevsky, Member of the Public. I. Approval of Minutes  The minutes from the November 19, 2025 meeting were approved. II. Presentation – Rebecca Marion, Public Health Nurse  Rebecca shared her professional background and provided an overview of her recent work. Her activities include conducting 35 blood pressure clinics, teaching CPR classes, performing fall prevention assessments, facilitating A Matter of Balance classes, and developing a Maternal and Child Family Health Resource Guide. III. Staff Updates  Paridhi is reviewing the information required for inclusion in the website workplan.  Isabelle is working on developing a newsletter for the website. The newsletter will be distributed to staff across all three health departments and can also be forwarded to Board of Health members.  Susan noted that Katie will move the May 20 Advisory Board meeting from 2:00 PM to 12:00 PM so that Paridhi and Isabelle can attend. A revised meeting invitation will be sent.  Alicia asked whether a PHE staff member had sent letters to Lexington town staff. Susan explained that Isabelle has been communicating with Lexington staff via email and is attempting to schedule a meeting with the Lexington Communications Specialist. Susan will remind Isabelle to send any communications to Alicia for review prior to contacting town staff.  Susan will also ensure that all PHE staff are informed of the proper communication protocols regarding emails and messages sent to town staff. IV. Tobacco  Tahycha recently completed tobacco inspections in Burlington and may have also completed inspections in Wilmington. She will notify Shelly and Alicia when compliance checks are conducted and report any compliance issues identified in their towns. TriBurlington.Lexington.Wilmington Ton Coalition Advisory Board-  Tahycha reported experiencing documentation challenges related to tobacco inspections, particularly regarding flavored products. V. New Business  Susan will forward resumes for the new inspector position to Alicia and Marlene for review and consideration for interviews.  Susan is considering purchasing a backup laptop for staff use in the event of IT issues.  Alicia will check with Lexington IT and will send Katie the invoice if they decide to proceed with the purchase.  Susan requested that any additional budget-related spending requests be submitted by the beginning of next week for the DPH allocation.
