Chair Lee Noel Chase called the March 5, 2026 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at
6:02pm.
FORMAL HEARINGS
Chair Lee Noel Chase opened the formal hearing for 1625 Massachusetts Avenue (HDC-26-5),
exterior alterations (Extension of the approved Temporary Arch) in the Battle Green Historic
District

CONTINUED HEARINGS
Chair Lee Noel Chase opened the continued informal hearing for 16 Clarke St (HDC-25-29),
exterior alterations (Demolition & New Construction of a new Mixed-Use Building) in the Battle
Green Historic District

Motion was made and seconded to review this continued hearing as informal discussion session with
no vote expected during the meeting. Motion carried. All in favor.
The architect presented the proposed elevation plans and site plans. All public comments were heard.
The Commission reviewed the proposed plans and with applicant approval moved to continue this hearing
at the next meeting with suggested changes regarding lighting fixtures and common roof terrace facing
Cary Library. A motion was made and seconded to continue this hearing to next meeting. The HDC
Liaison procedure is under review by the Town and so no Liaison is currently approved.
Chair Lee Noel Chase opened the continued hearing for 1403 Massachusetts Avenue (HDC-25-44),
exterior alterations (Front door revisions) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District
This hearing was continued at the next HDC meeting as per applicant’s request.
